President Cordano's annual Welcome Home address, with the theme "Be passionately curious," attracted a standing-room-only crowd to Elstad Auditorium on Thursday, August 31. During her address, President Cordano formally welcomed our new undergraduate and graduate students, touched on Phase II of The Gallaudet Promise, and said that our priorities for the coming year are top-notch academics, a "champ" student experience, and success for all our students. President Cordano also introduced Provost Khadijat Rashid, ’90, and the leaders of the university’s shared governance groups, including the Faculty Senate, the Faculty of Color Coalition, the Gallaudet Staff Council, the Organization for Equity for Staff of Color, the Student Body Government, and the Graduate Student Association. The Welcome Home address was followed by BisonFest, our annual celebration of everything Gallaudet, with performances, information booths, food, and drink, on the Gallaudet mall.
