JINYA Ramen Bar celebrated its opening in the Union Market district by donating $1 to Gallaudet University for every edamame dish and lycheetini beverage purchased between October 11 and November 11.

Edamame is a dish with immature soybeans, still in their pods. It is served boiled or steamed. Lycheetini is a martini prepared with lychee juice.

Rocio Álvarez, JINYA’s marketing director for the Washington metropolitan area, wrote in an email message, “We initiated this partnership as part of our commitment to building strong, positive relationships within our local community. We believe that being actively involved and giving back is key to fostering these bonds…Looking ahead, we’re eager to keep developing our partnership with Gallaudet and exploring more ways to work together.”

Álvarez also wrote that Gallaudet University students with a valid student identification card will receive ten percent off all dine-in food.

Founded in 2000 in Tokyo, JINYA Ramen Bar has over 60 locations in the United States and Canada. Its United States headquarters is in Woodland Hills, California. The Union Market district location, at 1259 Fourth Street NE, is its third in Washington, D.C. and seventh in the Washington metropolitan area.
