Homecoming 2024 is here! The full schedule, posted on the Homecoming website, includes a plethora of events. Yesterday, we witnessed the healing and renaming ceremony for Building 103, the opening of the “We, Native Deaf People, Are Still Here!” exhibition in the National Deaf Life Museum, and the annual Alumni BisonTank competition.

The Class of 1974 is celebrating its golden anniversary. Its members received alumni emeritus medallions yesterday in a ceremony with President Cordano, President Rashid, and Gallaudet University Alumni Association President Le Toudjida Allara. The Class of 1999 is celebrating its silver anniversary. Several other classes are holding anniversary reunions, as are a number of affinity groups.

The traditional pep rally and Alumni Bash tonight (October 18) will set the stage for soccer, volleyball, and football games tomorrow (October 19).

Also happening during Homecoming weekend: The Deaf Studies program will continue its year-long 30th anniversary celebration; Nancy Rourke, who painted the new murals in the National Deaf Life Museum, will present about her work; and the LGBTQIA2S+ Resource Center will hold its grand opening.
