Schuchman Center Announces Documentary Competition for 2024

Do you have a story to tell? How do you see the world? Show us your creativity and unique worldview!

The Schuchman Deaf Documentary Center invites you to create a 60-second documentary! 

Entries will be accepted from current Gallaudet undergraduate students for a cash prize. 

• 1st place $350
• 2nd place $200
• 3rd place $100

Submission deadline: April 1, 2024.

Documentaries will be judged by the Schuchman Deaf Documentary Center team: filmmakers, artists, writers, and educators. Scoring criteria will be based on originality, creativity, plot, pacing, structure, characters, and cinematography.

Winners will be announced at Awards Day.

Requirements:

• Film length: 60 seconds maximum, including title and credits.
• Film technique: horizontal orientation with a mobile device.
• Captions are required.
• Still images and historic videos may be used (ensure usage rights and permissions)
