Current, emerita faculty publish report on resources for deaf people with memory loss
Dr. Poorna Kushalnagar, ’93; Dr. Shilpa Hanumantha Lacy, G-’15, G-’15 & PhD 2009; and Dr. Donalda Ammons, ’74, are co-authors of a study, “Left Behind and Ignored”: Increasing Awareness and Accessibility of Resources for Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias in the Deaf Community, in Public Health Reports. Published since 1878, Public Health Reports is the official journal of the Office of the U.S. Surgeon General and the U.S. Public Health Service. This peer-reviewed journal is published six times per year and features articles and supplements on public health research, practice, pedagogy, and law.
Dr. Kushalnagar is Special Assistant to the Provost for Research; Dr. Lacy is an associate professor in the Psychology program, and Dr. Ammons is professor emerita. Their co-authors are Dr. Elina Engelman with California State University East Bay and Dr. Jaime Wilson with Wilson Clinical Center in Seattle, Washington.
