Zone parking refers to a parking lot or garage that is divided into designated zones. Gallaudet University has four designated zones: student, staff/faculty, visitor, and Allied Health Services patient parking.

When you purchase a parking permit, it is assigned to a specific zone. You are only allowed to park in the lot or area designated for your zone.

For example, a parking permit issued to students is restricted to designated student parking zones, while a staff parking permit grants access to staff parking lots.

Temporary Lifting of Zone Restrictions

During the summer months, DPS may temporarily lift zone restrictions. This allows faculty, staff, and students to park in each other’s designated parking lots. However, please note that parking is not free. Vehicles must still be registered with a valid parking permit, and all parking and traffic regulations must be followed.
