Darrius is a 2018 alumnus of Gallaudet; he tells us about his identity as a black and hard of hearing person who identifies as culturally deaf, and he shares how he found his tribe by experiencing acceptance through teamwork and collaboration for social justice through his experiences as a member of the Black Student Union. By learning to work with a team, he organized successful events and fundraisers to benefit the community, and now brings his passion back to Gallaudet as an Alumni Communications Coordinator.
Today, he gives back to Gallaudet and signing communities by applying what he learned during his time at Gallaudet University to help transform the community.
