Roving Reporter – May 2011
This month, the Roving Reporter asked: What do you recommend for graduates who want to get creative with their caps and gowns?
I recommend doing something that represents who you are, like something related to your major or where you come from.
Bilal Chinoy, web/media designer, Enrollment Marketing
Use various symbols representing your years at Gallaudet.

You could add things to make your robe look like the togas worn by ancient philosophers.
Kirk VanGilder, instructor, Department of Philosophy and Religion
Here’s my idea for a graduation cap–a piggy bank to encourage monetary gifts! Make a cardboard piggy bank and print a message on it like, “Support your local graduate today,” “Donate to my piggy savings bank!” Or, “Thanks for the contribution!” Glue on a few fake dollar bills to add to the theme. Best of luck to this year’s MSSD and Gallaudet graduates.”Christopher Kabusk, designer-graphic artist, Clerc Center
