Women’s basketball team to play at Capital One Arena

The Gallaudet University Athletics Department has partnered with the Washington Wizards of the National Basketball Association on its Deaf Appreciation Night on Friday, February 3, when the Wizards play host to the Portland Trail Blazers at 7 p.m. in Capital One Arena.

Fans can purchase tickets to the game through Gallaudet Athletics. Seats are $30 each, in Sections 408, 409, 425, and 426. When you click on the ticket link, please fill out the amount according to how many tickets you want to order. For example, two $30 tickets would equal $60.

As part of the festivities of the day, the Gallaudet women’s basketball team will play Penn College at 1:45 p.m. in Capital One Arena. Fans planning to attend the Gallaudet-Penn College game must purchase a Wizards-Trail Blazers ticket to be permitted into the arena regardless if they go to the Wizards game. Fans will be asked to sit in Sections 110-112 (open seating). There will be no concessions sold during the Gallaudet-Penn College game. 

To enter the arena for the Gallaudet-Penn College game, enter Capital One Arena at the Gallery Place Entrance, located at 7th and G Streets NW (just past Clyde’s and inside near the Regal movie theater box office). Gates will open at 1 p.m. for the 1:45 p.m. tip-off. The arena will be emptied immediately following the game to set up for the Wizards-Trail Blazers game. Fans will be allowed back in at 5:15 p.m.

All individuals will pass through standard NBA security (metal detectors) before entering the arena for both games. Please review the Capital One Arena Security Policy which includes its Bag Policy before arriving at the arena. 

The Gallaudet men’s basketball game versus Penn College has been moved up to 5 p.m. in the Field House.
