Gallaudet receives first-ever honoree on D3football.com...
Junior wide receiver Ryne Worsham (Chicago, Ill.) was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week following Gallaudet University’s season opener, honoring him as one of the nation’s top performers in NCAA Division III football last week. This marks the first time in program history that a Gallaudet player has received such an honor.
This is Worsham’s second honor this week as he was named Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
Worsham had a career game for Gallaudet as he hauled in seven passes for a career-best 155 yards and two touchdowns in a thrilling 28-27 overtime loss to Otterbein University at home. He caught a 9-yard touchdown pass on fourth down in overtime to give the Bison a shot to win the game. He had a game long 44-yard reception in the loss. He also scored on an 11-yard touchdown pass early in the fourth quarter.
Area school Johns Hopkins University was also represented this week, with quarterback Hewitt Tomlin making the team for his six-touchdown performance in a win against United States Merchant Marine Academy.
