Alumna, faculty member to assume leadership role in Massachusetts
Kyle Amber Clark, ’04 & G-’06, has been named Chief Equity and Inclusion Officer at The Learning Center for the Deaf in Framingham, Massachusetts. Ms. Clark, who has been a faculty member in the Department of Counseling, will begin at The Learning Center in September.
Ms. Clark has participated in numerous presentations and panel discussions on mental health counseling, Deaf culture, empathy, and intersectionality. She has served on the Faculty of Color Coalition Committee at Gallaudet. Kyle Amber has worked with organizations nationwide, including Deaf Abused Women’s Network, CSD Unites, the National Association of the Deaf, National Black Deaf Advocates, and Maryland School for the Deaf.
The Chief Equity and Inclusion Officer position is part of The Learning Center’s overall Strategic Plan to Advance Racial Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, which was announced in July. The plan includes both long-term and short-term goals to dismantle racism on both macro and micro levels.
Congratulations and best wishes to Ms. Clark
