Submit for IRB Review

The Gallaudet IRB uses Cayuse Human Ethics to review and approve research projects. Read below to get started and check out the FAQ section for more.

Use your Gallaudet email address and password. If you are unable to login, please request an account. Only Gallaudet faculty, staff, and students can have a Cayuse Human Ethics account.

Create your Application
Please submit applications at least one month before the projected start of research. You can use the IRB Determination Tool to see if your project requires IRB review.

See step-by-step instructions on how to create study submissions in Cayuse Human Ethics. Note that:

• Incomplete submissions will be rejected and returned to you.
• You cannot start your research project, including advertising and recruiting participants, until you receive confirmation that your study is either exempt or approved. Your project cannot extend beyond its approved date.
• You must enter a Renewal Submission into Gallaudet Cayuse IRB and await approval before proceeding. Your project cannot be modified from the approved protocol without approval.
• You must enter a Modification Submission into Gallaudet Cayuse IRB and await approval before proceeding.
