In a message to the university community on October 3, Dr. Glenn B. Anderson, ’68 & H-’17, outgoing chair of the Board of Trustees, announced the Board’s new leadership. Trustee Jose “Pepe” Cervantes, ’05, is the new Board Chair. Cervantes succeeds Dr. Anderson as Chair. Dr. Nicole Snell, ’04, succeeds Claire Bugen as Vice Chair. These appointments became effective on October 1.

The Board recognizes and appreciates outgoing Chair Anderson and Vice Chair Bugen for their strong Board leadership and service to the University.
Said Anderson, “The Board also welcomes Dr. Edna Conway, Dr. Leah Cox, and Melissa Draganac-Hawk, ’97 & G-’01, who began their Board terms on October 1, and says farewell to Dr. Natwar Gandhi, who is stepping down from the Board on October 31. We thank Dr. Gandhi for his leadership and service.”

The next meeting of the Board will be October 25-28, with an agenda focused on unrivaled academic excellence and lifelong bilingual learning. The Board looks forward to upcoming opportunities to interact with the Gallaudet community, including participating in the #WeAreGallaudet Conversation Series.
