The Mathematical Cognition and Learning Society 2024 Conference, held June 26-28 at Gallaudet — and hosted by Dr. Ilaria Berteletti, Program Director of the Ph.D. in Educational Neuroscience Program, and Assistant Professor Dr. Rachel Pizzie — was designed with accessibility in mind. With the support of funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF Award number: 2348499), organizers structured a schedule that would be welcoming to all.
All-deaf panel at MLA Convention features Gallaudet faculty
Two Gallaudet English professors participated in an all-deaf panel during the 2024 Modern Language Association (MLA) Convention in Philadelphia on Jan. 6. The plenary session, “Expanding Deaf Narrative: Scholarly, Critical, Creative, and Production Approaches,” was moderated by Dr. Jennifer Nelson, and featured Dr. Kristen Harmon as well as author Sara Nović, Dr. Jason Farr from Marquette University, and Dr. Christopher Krentz from the University of Virginia.
