S-STEM Application Requirements

Eligibility requirements:

• Students must be US citizens or permanent residents
• Students must be full time or part-time students
• Students must be Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics or Information Technology majors
• Students must have a GPA >2.75. If your GPA is below 2.75, please contact us to see how we can support you
• Students must demonstrate financial need. Please check out this link to fill out a form for the financial aid office

Application requirements:

• A filled-out application form found here. Please include information on extra-curricular activities (particularly those related to STEM – clubs, serving as a tutor, community outreach, and career development), academic awards, and honors.
• A copy of the academic transcript including ACT scores
• An essay of 1-1.5 pages or a signed video (maximum of 3 minutes) in American Sign Language (ASL) explaining how this program will help you in your future goals for a career in STEM
• Completed FAFSA and Gallaudet institutional financial aid application (IFAA) forms

Scholarship Maintenance Criteria:

• Maintain a minimum semester GPA of 2.75.
• Continue as a full-time/part-time student as a Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics or Information Technology major in Science, Technology, Accessibility, Mathematics, and Public Health (STAMP) at Gallaudet University
• Participate in all required S-STEM Program activities at Gallaudet University
• Complete the program surveys.
