Shubhaganga Dhrruvakumar

Dr. Dhrruvakumar joined the faculty at Gallaudet University in Spring 2025. She holds a PhD in Audiology from the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing, University of Mysore. With a strong background in clinical audiology, teaching, and research, she brings both international expertise and interdisciplinary perspectives to the AuD program.

Her research interests include hearing aid technology and innovation, listening effort, auditory processing disorders, and auditory rehabilitation across the lifespan. She is particularly passionate about integrating technology and evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes. Dr. Dhrruvakumar is actively involved in mentoring students, developing innovative course materials, and fostering research engagement.

Prior to joining Gallaudet, she served in academic and clinical roles, contributing to peer-reviewed publications, international conferences, and collaborative research projects. She is also interested in exploring the intersection of audiology with Deaf and signing communities and is currently working to expand accessible, inclusive audiologic care models.

Dr. Dhrruvakumar is enthusiastic about collaborative research and welcomes opportunities related to auditory processing, amplification, listening effort, and aural rehabilitation.

Dr. Dhrruvakumar firmly believes that no research idea is too small and no hearing aid fitting is too complicated, except maybe before her morning coffee.
