Dr. Mohammad Obiedat is a deaf mathematician and computer scientist. He has been teaching mathematics, computer science, and information technology courses at Gallaudet University for more than twenty two years. Dr. Obiedat served as the Information Technology Program Director from 2013 to 2016, and he is currently serving as the Mathematics Program Director. Dr. Obiedat has published several peer-reviewed articles in mathematics and computer science. His research interests are in both mathematics and computer science, including algebraic topology, graded ring theory, cryptography, data structures and algorithms, and Java programming language. He has also worked with some undergraduate students on research projects related to the lattice data structures and cryptography, and has jointly published a book chapter entitled "The Future of Mentoring Undergraduate Research in Mathematics with Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Students".
