Melissa Choy-Yuen, M.S. CCC-SLP is a bilingual (English, ASL) certified speech-language pathologist and clinical educator who provides services to pediatric and adult populations in the areas of aural (re)habiltation and/or speech-language development. As a clinical educator, she provides direct instruction/supervision to first year graduate SLP clinicians in the master's program at Gallaudet University around culturally competent interventions and individualized patient care. She also provides ongoing mentorship for graduate SLP's as they matriculate through the program and post graduation. Mrs. Choy-Yuen's specializations include aural rehabilitation with adults (e.g. services in auditory training, speechreading, communication strategies) and stuttering with pediatric and adult clients. In addition to clinical practice and clinical education, Mrs. Choy-Yuen has served as the internship coordinator, securing internship placements for graduate students in the field of speech-language pathology to gain clinical experiences.
Mrs. Choy-Yuen earned her Master's of Science degree in speech-language pathology from Gallaudet University in 2018. She maintains certification through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence. Mrs. Choy-Yuen holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Central Florida (2016).
