Erica Short

After eaning a Masters of Science degree with focus on Communication Disorders in 2009, Erica Short has worked as a Speech Language Pathologist within varied settings. With emphasis and focus on the pediatric population, she is driven with compassion, patience, and respect to encourage increase, intentional understanding and effective communication.

In addition to working as a Speech Language Pathologist, in May 2020, she completed her degree in American Sign Language, to further her skills and ability to emphasize effective communication with inclusion of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.

Currently working at Gallaudet University as a Clinical Educator, Erica Short take pride in educating and providing thebest service possible to her students, clients, parents, caregives and supporters alike.  With use of evidence based practice anda consistent research, Erica Short is currently working on identifying gaps between effective communication with expression of feelings, emotions, understanidng of perspectives, and recognition of perceptions.  Currently, her goal is to focus on individuals and families to be aware of behaviors, thoughts processes, and encouragement of safe environments.
