What is the Gallaudet EAP Program?
Gallaudet values its employees and recognizes that from time to time they may experience personal problems that affect their professional and/or personal lives. The Gallaudet Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is designed to provide assistance to employees who may be experiencing personal difficulties such as drug or alcohol abuse, psychological or emotional problems, or family or financial troubles.

Who provides the Service?
Acentra Health will provide Employee Assistance Program services. The program is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

What does the EAP offer?
Acentra Health EAP professionals are experienced, caring individuals who hold master’s or doctoral degrees in counseling or a related field. Some of them are fluent in ASL. EAP services are provided for a wide range of issues such as:

• Stress/Anxiety
• Parenting
• Aging
• Finances
• Depression
• Child/Elder care
• Alcohol/Drugs
• Marriage/Relationships
• Abuse
• Legal
• Family

Many problems can be addressed directly with your EAP professional, but some may require referral to other resources.

Will my inquiry be kept confidential?
All discussion between you and your EAP professional are confidential. EAP professionals carefully follow federal laws and regulations regarding confidentiality. Information regarding your contact with the EAP cannot be released without your written consent, except in the following situations:

• By court order;
• Imminent threat or harm to self or others;
• Or in situations of abuse (such as child or elder abuse)

Is there a cost for EAP services?
EAP services are at no cost to regular status and extended temporary employees, their dependents, and their household members for up to ten sessions. There may be times when additional services are needed that could involve out-of-pocket costs, depending on their health plan benefit.
