Hard of hearing, hearing, CODA, deaf – it doesn’t matter if you were mainstreamed or went to a Deaf School, we don’t care.
I’m a hearing student and I wanted to learn a new language.
I came into Gallaudet and I learned ASL.
If you went to a mainstream school, like me, and maybe don’t know ASL.
Yeah, it can be scary but it will be worth it in the end.
Work on it. Have patience and over time there will be a big difference.
If you can’t sign, that’s okay.
We are here as a community to support YOU! Coach supports you!
They really bonded with me and I love that they helped me develop my signing.
It’s nice to play with someone who also has hearing loss, like me.
It’s really fun to play with them.
It wasn’t until I entered the Deaf world and joined Gallaudet’s softball team
that I truly understood and found a team that is the right fit for me.
The strong team bond and communication in ASL makes this experience so much easier.
There’s no other place like Gallaudet, it’s the ONLY University in the world that’s truly deaf centric.
Working together creates SUCCESS!
