What to Do
Where to Eat
- Campus Dining: Cafeterias and cafes that feature locally grown food and diverse menus.
- Union Market: An indoor farmer’s market and restaurant hub across the street from Gallaudet’s 8th St Garage. Open Tuesdays-Sundays.
- Union Station: Not only is this beautiful building a tourist destination in itself — it also serves as a transportation hub for local buses and the DC Metro (WMATA), commuter trains (MARC and VRE) and inter-city buses (e.g., Megabus, Greyhound). Union Station features many restaurants and a shopping plaza. As a bonus, the Gallaudet shuttle will take you directly there.
- H Street Corridor: This stretch of H St NE is only a few blocks away from Gallaudet, and is one of DC’s most exciting up and coming areas. Here you will find restaurants, shopping, and nightlife to fit any taste.
