About
I am an Assistant Professor in History at Gallaudet University with a joint appointment in the Drs. John S. and Betty J. Schuchman Deaf Documentary Center. I study digital history, nineteenth- and twentieth-century American religious histories, and deaf history.
I completed my Ph.D. at George Mason University in the Department of History and Art History in 2021. My dissertation project, With Eloquent Fingers He Preached: The Episcopal Mission to the Deaf, traced the development of the Church Mission to Deaf-Mutes, an Episcopal organization that grew in size and prominence between 1850 and 1920.
