Course Overview

This is an introductory course dealing with interpretation of American Sign Language (ASL) to English monologues. Emphasis is placed on comprehension of ASL prior to interpretation into English. Course topics include effort in interpretation, restructuring, coping skills, simultaneity, and repair strategies.

Prerequisites: Fluency in ASL and English at levels which permit full comprehension of source text in either language.
