How to report a Phishing E-mail
Phishing is a message that is well crafted and official looking e-mail asking for your personal data (passwords, social security numbers, credit card number, etc.) There is usually a short time period, usually within 1-2 days, where you must respond or your account will be suspended or deleted. Gallaudet, and most companies, will not request that you share your confidential information.
For more information about phishing, please visit the following websites:

If you want to report an e-mail as a phishing attack, please follow the steps:
- Open Gallaudet Webmail (https://mail.gallaudet.edu)
- Open the phishing e-mail
- Click on the down arrow
- Select Report phishing
- You will get a message confirming that you want to report the e-mail as phishing. Click on Report Phishing Message to have the e-mail investigated further.

If you receive a phishing e-mail that asks for your confidential information and you report it as a phishing attack then this will reduce the likelihood of other users receiving the same e-mail.
