Gallaudet Univeristy
Campus Sustainability

With environmental sustainability becoming an urgent issue, Gallaudet University recognizes its role as a member of the global community and believes in taking ethical responsibility for the socio-economic crisis we face today. Here at Gallaudet, students are now promoting awareness and taking action to address this issue through coursework, organization involvement, and research. Staff and faculty are working to establish long term plans that will encourage energy efficiency, usage of renewable resources, reduction of material consumption, and participation in the preservation of the world we live in. Gallaudet is committed to working with the community towards environmental change for the better.

This site on Campus Sustainability will document Gallaudet's process toward becoming more environmentally friendly, or more "green." We have included resources where you can learn more and do more. There are green tips telling you how you can make a difference in your day-to-day activities.

This site is for the entire campus community and we welcome your input. If you have ideas, advice, or stories of success in becoming more green, please share them with us. If you wish to contribute something to this site or have questions or concerns, please e-mail Green Gallaudet's Director of Sustainability, Rachel Benedict, at rachel.benedict@gallaudet.edu.
